This year at YES, our group research project was on Urban Heat Islands (UHIs). Previous years have researched topics including life on Mars, and the probe Deep Space Probe.
The Urban Heat Island effect is the elevated temperature found at city centers, sometimes by as much as ten degrees. Each student has authored a short essay on an aspect, cause, consequence or cure pertaning to UHIs.
