Biography
With a rumble of thunder and a flash of lightning, I was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 6, 1980. My parents are Richard and Janice Spiegel, or at least that was their names for a while. Pops is a Rabbi, one of those Jewish preachers, if you know what I mean. Mom is a social worker, from Poughkeepsie, New York. I was a brilliant young kid, the leader of the Kindergarten class. Aside from my genious, I was real smooth with the women too, I had dated almost every girl in the first grade. I was really coming into my own by the time I reached the second grade, then, suddenly I awoke to find myself living in the city of brotherly love. I think the move was actually harder on my dogs than on me, which reminds me, I need to tell you bout my perros. Kelev was perhaps the greatest dog ever, he's in the Golden Retriever hall of fame, in fact. Tiny, who is still with us, actually was tiny for a few weeks, before she grew, a phenomenon difficult to fathom for a young boy, hence the misnomer. We spent 2.5 short but fun years in Philly, where I made several unforgettable friends. That was a great neighborhood as well, almost like the kind out of a book, with kids playing in the streets at all hours, snowball fights, basketball games, and nintendo, and of course the bad apple neighbors. These neighbors were tough, and when I saw the swat team crawling up their front yard after school one day, my curiosity was aroused. Then when grandma hit the whiffle ball in their yard, and they called the cops, I knew they were pretty paranoid. I believe that they had a basement full of guns (yes, in Texas that would be normal, but remember, this was Philadelphia) and I think they dealt drugs as well. Well, in the middle of 4th grade, I was uprooted once again, to my current residence of San Antonio. I like it here, though sometimes I long for the excitement of a big city. I've had some great experiences here, including middle school, high school, some good friends including Erika Wexler, some nice relationships, including my current one with Judy Maledon, a trip to Israel, 4 years of camp, basketball, and a whole bunch of other things that I'll tell you if you call me at 210-348-0002.
