Lisa Recio's YES Page
My name is Lisa Marie Recio. I am a senior at Memorial H.S. interested in
electronics, math, accountng and cooking. I started taking electronics the
second semester of my sophomore year. I loved it! Half the time I could
barely understand what was going on in the class because I was a semester
behind, but I liked it. My junior year I understood what the instructor
was talking about and it all made sense. Around the end of my sophomore year
the instructor suggested that I apply for the YES program. The YES program
is funded by the National Science Foundation and I applied, was accepted,
and I am learning various things in the science and engineering fields. And
I'm learning that electronics is really for me. The YES program is a summer
program three weeks long and in this time, we are covering the Southwest
Research Institute campus, Unix, e-mail, the internet, Mathematica, WWW
(World Wide Web), ELECTRONICS, and C++ programming.
