My research project is in the field of enviornmental science. Previous research has shown that the daily temperatures of large urban areas are incresing over time in relation to the surrounding countryside. This is possiblly due to the heat being released into the air by modern inventions such as automobiles and air conditioners. Another factor might be the creation of large surfaces of low albedos that absorb more sunlight, such as parking lots, other paveing, and building rooftops. My study focuses on the heat island here in San Antonio, Texas.
